Job Vacancies

The Northern Fells Group is looking for a paid summer Youth Worker to plan and deliver activities for the six week school holiday period for primary aged children (5-11)

Pay: £12.21 per hour plus mileage allowance

Closing date for applications: 4 June 2025

Part-time – 3 x 7hr days per week for the six week summer holiday period – no weekends

Working between the Caldbeck and Rosley areas so your own transport be it bike or car, is essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person to join our team to deliver activity sessions such as arts, crafts, bushcraft, sports etc. You may occasionally be required to work alongside local sports coaches and artists to provide activities for children and young people in our area.

  • Ideally, we are looking for applicants with experience of working with children, if you have direct experience of working in the youth sector great, and teaching experience would also be relevant but is not essential.

  • We recognise that this a rural post so we will be subsidising commuting mileage as we did last year (max 20 miles per day)

  • Preferably you would already have a Paediatric First Aid qualification but we will consider applicants without this on the proviso that they complete the certificate before commencing work (paid for by NFG)

  • The successful applicant will also require an enhanced DBS check (paid for by NFG)

This a great opportunity for the summer and fun too!  Last year’s scheme was a great success!
